The double-hung style of window began its long reign of popularity America during George Washington's time.  Our Clad Double-Hung is the latest stage in the double-hung evolution incorporating 21st century technology, ultra-modern materials, and a revolutionary design.  With its weathertight wood construction and aluminum exterior cladding, it offers our customer years of trouble-free performance without painting.   Even with all these changes, our Clad Double-Hung still has the same traditional looks that were first popular in George Washington's time.

FEATURES

1. Frame.  All exposed parts are clear, no finger-joint.  The frame is clad on the exterior with maintenance-free aluminum which has a baked-on finish in three colors: white, bronze, or beige.  The unequalled strength of the frame corners comes from the screw and screw bosses which hold the miter at 90*.  Staples in the wood members, and neoprene gaskets seal and insure a tight fit.
2. Sash.  Sash members are extra heavy 1-1/2" thick, clear, no finger-joint, and are covered with aluminum which has a baked-on finish.   Cladding is rolled over the end of each sash member and sealed with a neoprene gasket for an attractive and tight-fitting corner.
3. Sill.  The sill is made of a super tough material called Werzalit.  Werzalit is a combination of wood fiber and resins molded under high heat and pressure and will not rot, warp, crack, or split, and it's impervious to insects.
4. Glazing.  Insulating glass is available in either clear or High-Performance.
5. Balance.  The revolutionary Premium Tilt balance has no equal for convenience, adjustability, and energy-saving performance.
6. Finger Lifts.  Finger lifts are built into the top and bottom rails for easy sash operation.
7. Sash Lock.  A factory-installed, baked-on finish sash lock holds the sash together and locks tightly.

OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

• Divided Lites.  Choose from grilles or internal muntins.
• Insect Screens.  Heavy-duty frame screen in matching colors.
• Trim Strips.  This custom fit system allows standard units to be used in odd-sized openings.
• Interior Extension Jambs.  Interior extension jambs are available in three standard widths:  5-1/4", 6-9/16", and 7-5/16".  Intermediate sizes are also available on request.

DECORATIVE TOPS FOR DOUBLE-HUNGS

• Three Styles.  Choose clad round tops, clad elliptical tops or clad transoms.  All are available with High-Performance glass and with or without grilles or internal muntins.
• Interior Casing.  Two styles are available, Clamshell WM 327 and Colonial WM 356.  All interior casing is laminated western softwoods, no finger joints.
